Living where air is spicy

You ever step outside and wonder why the trees are trying to kill you? I wonder that every day.

About me

Hello! I’m Maegan. I grew up in California, lived in Alaska for 13 years and moved to Oregon in 2022. Unfortunately I made the mistake of moving to the Willamette Valley where the air is spicy, and my coworkers use me to judge whether or not spring has arrived.

I’m asexual and aromantic, as well as childfree. I have AuDhD and lupus. I’ll be talking about all of this, because it’s really only in the last couple of years that I’ve started understanding what some of these things mean for me.

I’m ridiculous dog mom. I started this blog because I’m just starting the process of getting bariatric surgery, and I wanted to share this journey.

Meet the pups

I currently have 2 dogs, but I’m including my rainbow pups as I will talk about them too.

Afina

2020(?)-present

Her name means blueberry. Fee was rescued from a puppy mill in June 2022. She may only have one brain cell but she’s an absolute delight.

Morticia

2020-present

Tish the tiny werewolf is a Chinese crested. She’s a demanding little diva with trash panda tendencies.

Beren

2018-2020

My sweet little boy. He may not have been the smartest dog, but he was full of love. Sadly Beren had idiopathic epilepsy and only lived to be 2.

Lúthien

2017-2022

Lú had the best grumpy face but was an absolute cuddle bug. She passed at 4 years old from a rare brain disease called meningoencephalitis.

Grainne

2014-2017

An Alaskan gremlin who loved to hike and never feared cold weather. She passed too young from an accident.
